La Petite Robe. F|W 2016-2017
Chiara Boni La Petite Robe presents a cosmic collection for Fall/Winter 2016-17 with a vibrant linear motif in shades ranging along a spectrum of incandescent reds: burgundy, garnet, pomegranate, and fiery magma bursting into prints. The color palette develops the chromatic themes of the earth, of rock, Artic blue and green tea leaf.
Exploring the technological properties of the house signature stretch jersey fabric throughout the collection, Chiara Boni expands the collection into separates now including tailored, formal suiting with skirts or trousers. Boni infuses every piece with subtle sensuality; cocoon coats and ample hoods hide just enough to leave to the imagination. For the first time, Boni introduces luxurious eco leather primarily with fringe accents.
Boni plays with proportions: elusive fins, asymmetric peplums, and sculptural sleeves – both angular and rounded. Proportions are explored as well in textures, with linear satin and tight plain weaves.
Seductive cut-outs & laser-cut lace patterns contrast the fullness of dramatic draping and cascading jabots.
Chiara Boni uses a vocabulary that explores cosmic literature, giving experimental meaning to the focus of her collection.
She interprets the interstellar rays of light through sheer tulle inserts. Metallic constellations of rings and studs underline the strong attitude of the collection. An original ‘astral blossom’ print appears on form-fitting dresses.
Couture gowns finish the Chiara Boni La Petite Robe collection; gowns that float in a haze of organza, floor-length skirts with a train, alongside contemporary jumpsuits. Lunar reflections in the form of silver foils appear shattered on dresses and waves of crisp ice freeze the edge of necklines. Between present and future, the collection is a revelation of elegance.
